Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is all about the students and listening to their needs. I tend to have an outline of a lesson plan to adapt to the classroom atmosphere that day. If they are truly motivated dancers, then they will want to push themselves, and we will make that commitment to each other at the beginning of the season. I will push them, and they will work hard to live up to that expectation that we have set. However, students are constantly getting injured with the pressure of pushing their body to it’s farthest limits. I want to provide a space for dancers to listen to their bodies, know their limits, and take care of themselves. I hope to create, not only a place to challenge yourself and grow, but a place to have fun and build relationships as well. Dance can be very therapeutic and character building if you let it be and I think that is very important.
Mission: To inspire young movers to have passion and drive both inside and outside the classroom. Their dedication will give them strength to push themselves and have something to be proud of at the end of each rehearsal and performance.
